The textile tradition and folk costumes of Scandinavia are the topics of the books released by Duran Publishing. This relatively new and small publishing company has released two books and three more are in the making. The books are made in cooperation with museums and private collectors and are intended as popular description and inspiration to anyone interested in Scandinavian textiles and folk costumes.

The next book in the series Scandinavian Folklore are Vol. III. During the journeys from the arctic north and the Sami culture, to the shores of Norwegian Sørlandet and Swedish Scania, photographer Laila Durán brings you more of the great variation of bunads and folk costume tradition that are still very much alive today. Kronbruden (The Crowned Bride) is a book about the bride and wedding traditions of Norway and Sweden, and it is intended as inspiration to anyone wanting to add a touch of the past to their own wedding. Today more and more people choose to get married and many seek inspiration in the colorful and spectacular brides of the past. This book is a "coffe-table-book" with hundreds of photos of the most luxurious, colorful and exotic traditional brides of Scandinavia. Norske Broderte Bunader (Norwegian Embroidered Bunads) are made in cooperation with Norsk Folkemuseum in Oslo. The museum curator, Anne Kristin Moe, is writing the text using her master thesis on the subject and rewriting it in to a popular version. The photos of photographer Laila Duran and the old archive photos from NF will illustrate one hundred years of Norwegian bunad history. A history that are not only about beautiful wool embroidery but also a dramatic story about norwegian identity, feminism and politics. Text in english and norwegian.
